Here's for the mummies.
Your kid is your Mirror!
Is your kid ah tas?
Does he/she enjoy good food?
Nothing cheaper than crystal jade bun?
Eating problem? Do you encounter this problem, when you bring your kid to foodcourt, your kid refused to take the food or they struggle to finish the food or even throw tantrum?
But when you dine at crystal jade, kids simply gorge their food with a slurp and burp! Amazing heh.
I once overheard a kid at the age of four shouting at grandma, "I wanna eat sakae sushi". Is this ah tas? hmmm... Do you allow your little ones to indulge at this young age?
I admit as a parent, I am guilty as charged. I prefer avoiding the crowd and run into any restaurant that is the least crowded. I really hate waiting for table. Yup I'm ah tas. So to set a good example, I tried my best to step back to reality and started going food court again. Allowing my kids to get used to this kinda crowded ambience. Fortunately, my kids are easy going, they didn't make a fuss on where we should dine. So its a bliss. We would like them to understand occassional indulge is definitely alright but not on a regular basis.
So are you alright with your kids being ah tas? In certain aspect, I do believe kids being ah tas can be a good thing. When they are exposed to good food or good ambience, they won't turn out to be country pumpkin ya? However, overly exposed, can be backfired. Kids are very adaptable to any environment and decide on what they prefer. And naturally to a kid, they expect the parents to continue the trend.
As a parent, I know I have to set an example, I am their mirror. They act like us in some ways. So upbringing is very important. I guess there's always a saying "You Reap what you sow".
I always envy those well groomed kids or teenagers. They speak well, dress well, very presentable in all occasions in terms of mannerism. LOL. Not knowing what kind of "strict" disciplinary methods have they gone thru. But obviously it works.
I am still searching for a proper method to do my parenting. Its not an easy task. Every kid is different. But one thing I do know. Do not neglect your kids. Be attentive and understand their needs. Usually they need your attention rather than what they wants.
In a nutshell, in this case, BONDING is the key point here.
Just my thoughts, I don't speak for all parents.
