Incautious and Reckless Driver!!!

Hi all,

This happened on 12/12/2014, yes, back dated.
Inconsiderate driver shouldn't be on the road! This guy obviously has shown no consideration.
I have no idea if the driver is local, foreign talent or whatever.
On the road, you don't drive like an ass.
I am still contemplating whether to report this concern to police as I was told to lodge a report by our Traffic police customer service. As they mentioned, they will start the investigation only when I lodge a report.

I was shocked, disappointed and annoyed!
Why?

I reported this issue to the Traffic Police and they referred me to the Police? WTF. According to them, That's the protocol. Protocol to report about a traffic violation to TP?? Huh... So those TP officers speeding on the highway flashing away, actually have no rights to issue tickets or even charge us? So in the future, we should advice them to lodge a report before issue a ticket? Fair? Sounds ridiculous or right? Yes, it does isn't it? I can't accept this kind of system. When I am living in a "SYSTEMATIC" country and everything seems so in order. Right? Yet still nonsensical procedure.

However, to be franked, I realised the certain govt sects are not technologically up to date as it seems to be. They are just rather outdated as far as I encountered. I shall not elaborate too much. Its just merely my views based on my several encounters. Go find out more yourself.

Watch the video and advice me if I'm making a big fuss here? I was travelling on that road, already a big ass truck forcing me to e-brake and this stupid lorry driver suddenly filtered to my side of the road and drive off!!!! It was soooo damn close, I was forced to make a HARD e-brake and mounted the kerb to avoid the close crash! I was quite in shock and my eldest boy was with me at that point of time, he was in shock too. Thankfully, he was wearing a seat belt. So please parents, ensure your kids are buckled up! It does save life!

Kindly click below for the video. (The video is blurry, however, I have managed to capture the license plate number.
Video of Scene

I am very glad that my son and I are safe, and escaped this almost unfortunate event. I seriously urge everyone to stay alert on the road for yourself and for others. Its very worrisome in either way!

In 2015, I wish that we have a smooth year ahead and be contented with current life! Please be alert while driving! Be safe and be alive!

Tooth Disaster: Part 1

Hi all,

I was invaded by this molar annoying pain for at least 2 weeks. Yes, I had a toothache! It's excruciating. It's unbearable. It affects your life.

I hate going to dentist. Since young, I never had good experience with dentist or rather I have never come across a dentist whom I am comfortable with. Also, big major concern, the gum was inflicted with serious gum pain which is far too unbearable! I usually freaked out during every dental visits which I dragged myself to go or even not go! I rather gargle away Listerine than going dentist. I will try all kinds of remedies to reduce the pain, obviously it doesn't work at all. As the threshold of the pain has simultaneously reached the extreme max, I had no choice but to make a dental appointment.

Alright, let me run through my experience and slowly you will get the whole story.

A month or two ago, I had a bad-ass toothache, in real pain obviously, I needed a dentist. So I set an appointment and thought I would require extraction. I was extremely worried. I mean I hate that kind of experience really. I dragged myself to the neighbourhood dental clinic, clenching my teeth in fear. Hoping I can get through smoothly with just simple filling. Finally, it's my turn, I felt cold and frozen. And I make it clear to the dentist that I am terrified of dentist! He sat me down and check through my teeth. He said he can help clean up and see how it goes. So he started the cleaning, I felt the discomfort and the gum felt so sensitive. The procedure took about an hour of drilling, digging and scaling. It was tormenting for me. I hate that feeling. Finally, he finished off with the filling. And finger crossed, hoping everything will be alright so I can move on with my life. However, the dentist did warn me, this method might not work as I might have to go through Root Canal procedure. I have no idea what is it, I went "what do you mean by Root Canal?" Its the first time I heard of that, sounds really terrifying! So the next question I asked, how much is this procedure? I got a serious shock! It's $800, not including consultation and crowning. I exclaimed "crowning??". Yes, you need to crown the molar tooth after Root Canal, or else your tooth will break apart. Oh my gosh, its a shocking news to me! I'm seriously worried! So much to do on my little molar? And cost so much to just fix a molar? Anyhow, after the filling, I pray and hope for the best, hoping for no complication.

It's been over a month, the pain is back. It's really annoying. I had endured too long and pain has been really excruciating as I simply can't sleep, I will wake up feeling awake and feeling paranoid about the pain even thou I took panadol. It did help to stop the pain but I literally live on panadol over a week. I even ended up going to my GP and ask for sleeping pills and pain killer so I can sleep through the night. I was prescribed with antibiotic as well.

Before seeing the GP, I actually made an appointment with the dentist in a nearby mall, however, what is killing me is the dentist is on leave for a week! arrghhh, I almost went banging my head! And they said Root Canal treatment requires specialist to do it. A lot of questions went through my mind. What? What? What? What is going on? Why so complicated? Gosh... for a molar tooth.. arrgghhhh I'm trying to convince myself to extract that tooth. However, I was advised not to. Apparently, removing your molar will affect the development of other teeth. Meaning, the gaps between your teeth will be widened. I felt like shouting out loud.

Root Canal procedures can be subsidised but not claimable/deductible from Medisave.
I went through some hassles before deciding to go privatised. Meaning, I had no choice but to pay at premium rates. If you are referred by polyclinic, your cost will be partially subsidised. Its true, even for Root Canal, you will be subsidised up to 50% of the actual cost. Its a huge relief to your pocket. However, if you are willing to bear the pain for at least half a year, you probably can wait. As making appointment with polyclinic is like digging your own grave slowly. Meaning, if you have high pain threshold, go ahead and wait. As for me, I am in great pain, I can't go through the pain anymore. Its just too much of panadol that is in my body. It might be detrimental. And it affects my daily life as my mood is affected as I am in too much pain to even play with my kids. However, if you are alright to just extract the tooth, go ahead, its the cheapest and fastest way to end the whole pain series.

What is Root Canal? Root Canal Procedure

Root canal therapy is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or infected.
A root canal procedure is performed when the nerve of the tooth becomes infected or the pulp becomes damaged. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed, and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed.
Root canal procedures have the reputation of being painful. Actually, most people report that the procedure itself is no more painful than having a filling placed. The discomfort experienced in the period leading up to seeking dental care is truly painful, not the root canal procedure itself.

Why Root canal? Myth about Root Canal

Restoring the tooth after root canal therapy is necessary in order to ensure the tooth functions properly. The appointments necessary to completely restore the tooth, in essence, should not be considered part of the root canal process.

XRay Room, look scary?

Experience with Root Canal
FYI, you might need more than one session, so I went through Root Canal procedure, it feels painless apart from the jab for numbing your gum. It's a lot of drilling and scrapping to endure. I hate that feeling! And I have a follow up treatment. And finally, I am required to go for crowning. So much to do for a molar! I would say the dentist is the best one around! She is really gentle and very careful! She explained to you and make you feel at ease. She is none other than Dr Chen Nan from National Healthcare Group Polyclinics. Do call the helpline to arrange appointment. The helpdesk lady, Catherine, highly recommended her! Catherine is the nicest helpdesk ever! I was so impressed which usually I am very skeptical with government customer service. Hahah... Oh well, she is the best!

Advice:
Good dental care will set you free from pain! Visit your dental clinic once a year to clean up your gums. It maintains and achieves a more healthy set of teeth. It is better than paying a premium rates to maintain a tooth.

Price:Total can hit below $3,000 including capping. No subsidy!

Ninja Warrior Cheongsam

Dear Mummies,

Yes, I named it "Ninja Warrior Cheongsam". It's the feminine ninja sort of version. It exudes power, loves and confidence of a lady. Especially a mummy who requires great amount of stamina to continue every single day! I personally require a nice outfit to brighten up my day! This dress is like my warrior suit, I can charge around freely amid my hectic daily schedules. Every mummy is like a modern female warrior who equipped herself to protect her empire A.K.A kids.

Back to my cheongsam craze again, I love it even more! Cheongsam is no longer outdated, in fact, it's fashionable and trendy! If you realised, its amazing how the designs of cheongsam evolves to what it is now.

Anyhow, I recently purchased a few lovely pieces and absolutely with no regrets. It just falls nicely on me. The material is so soft and comfy. These awesome dresses are from Lark and Peony. They are always working their best. Doing their best to launch the perfect pieces without fail. The owner/designer, Junie, of Lark and Peony is a pretty and chic babe who is very friendly as well. Do feel free to enquire if you have queries.

What so special about this NINJA CHEONGSAM?

I am crazy with those lovely prints that are nicely matched to the dresses. The uniqueness of those prints on the collar and belt of each dress really a piece of art. You can fold down the collar to show off the prints or just lift the collar up and pair it with the vibrant belt for a sophisticated look. It's not overly done, true to colour, position of prints are aligned (meaning, you see what you get from purchasing online), its threading is neat and the belt is the key to accenturate a beautiful silhouette. I mean I may not be an artist by profession, however, I do have an eye for arty-farty stuff.

Referring to the dress in following picture, they come in few colours such as black, navy, royal blue, beige and purple. I regretted not getting "The Princess in Aubergine" as I thought purple won't suit my skin tone, but I guess I am wrong. Haha. Well, its too late now. It's no longer in stock. So I should just go sob in a corner.

In a nutshell, I almost bought all the colours of this collection except for "The Princess in Aubergine". This collection is a MUST HAVE. Go grab from what's available before you regret! Basically, all these dresses from this collection, are ideal for smart casual functions or working days. Its not too formal. Great for OL and chic mummies. Not forgetting, you can keep the tradition, why not? I am visualising this dress in Maxi sleeveless version. wooo LOL.. think too much.

Check back on my blog for other Lark & Peony pieces.

I love Lemon! Lemon is my saviour!

Dear Mummies,

I recently found out this cheap and good pesticide. LOL.. Yes. Its definitely a good find!
I may be a mountain turtle but thru my experience, I am sharing so you can try! Especially, if you are like me, lazy mummy it is.

How I chance upon this wonderful remedy or trick or coincidence?
My hubby was down with flu, cough, fever virus so I thought since my mum passed me some lemons to make a drink, so why don't I just squeezed it in my common water container. Its a 1 stone kills 2 birds theory. So I thought lemon may be helpful to my ill hubby till he recovers. Then I found out lemon is good for throat infections, bacteria, etc. Which is why you have lemon detergent. Well, obviously, this is a very common remedy right? Ya its nothing.

So when I'm done with the squeezed lemon, I left it at the tap area. Usually, there are ants around for no reason, its kinda irritating as I rarely cook. Ya I am a lazy mummy, thanks to my mummy. haha... Its really effective, the next day, somehow, traces of ants are getting lesser and lesser. Even some irritating bugs! Yes, I found the best solution not 100% but safe solution. I have kids at home, so I don't have to go spraying poisonous insecticide anywhere in the house.

I hope I am not the only country bumpkin here! Well, I hope it is a great share! I will be leaving few lemon slices in the living room. It will freshen the air the house. It does. And I doubt anyone will say no to that scent. ya?

The following link actually give you a clearer picture on 45 uses of Lemon, that's alot of uses for a little lemon right? Do you know at least half? I don't.

Read: 45 uses for Lemon

Have a good read.

Happy national day!

Cheongsam Baby in Da house!

Dear Mummies,

Who doesn't love their own kids? Especially baby! I mean let's not talk about toddlers and grown up kids. I am referring to just BABY! Oh yeah! Babies are just so innocent and cute! They have the best skin and cuteness. Don't you agree?

The fact that having 3 kids, my current schedule is literally packed till the night! I still love and pamper my kids. All I need is a pat on my shoulder and more understanding from my hubby from my nonsense. Agree? Yes I totally take my hat off for those being a FULL TIME housewife. Its really tough! Its a slave job! I could not breathe even by just running around in the whole morning! And I am a working mother too. Yes, I am a working mummy. You need some cooling time away from the kids, this way you are able to recharge and give them all your best.

Enough of the rubbish talk. My baby girl is growing fast, and she is crawling and walking, the same usual cycle. As she is the only and youngest girl in my family, she definitely gettng a lot attention. Yes, after shopping for boys' clothes, I finally got a chance to shop for girls' clothes! Pretty girls' clothes. Basically, I can buy the whole world right? Haha.. Yes. Well, I mean I don't just go spending and wasting money on a little human. I still have expectation. Its just too much temptation, setting an expectation will definitely help! So why am I so eager to share this? As I so happy that I found a great dress for my little baby girl, traditional yet modern. If you realised, I actually wrote about my love for cheongsam, I would prefer my daughter to follow suit right? And this is why I am sharing. Cheongsam is for baby or toddler too! I am so glad I managed to purchase this dress for her, so to be kiasu, I even bought another dress for my girl too. In case, I couldn't find similar style.

The above Take A Side blue dress is from thehappycheongsam! She is so pretty in it. So princessy. Not forgetting about the ribbon headband, its a matching set. It comes with the dress. Oh ya! Haha.. She is only 1yr 3mths. They have the similar prints and different design in Pink. I bought that too. Its just too cute. Now its the time to doll her up, she probably won't let me when she is 10? We'll see. :)

The most happening part about this shop is, they have mama and baby set! Yes, they have the similar design that will match your daughter's. It's in my closet now. No regrets!

Check out their online shop, its available for preorder.
